Oathbound is based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and regularly photographs weddings, elopements, and sessions throughout Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Los Ranchos, Corrales, Taos, and greater New Mexico.
We love to travel! Travel throughout the United States is available.
-
Yes! I’m available for destination weddings, elopements, and photography sessions throughout New Mexico and across the United States.
Additional travel fees may apply depending on the location, distance, accommodations, and coverage requested. Reach out with your date and destination for a custom travel estimate.
-
Absolutely. Oathbound proudly welcomes and celebrates LGBTQ+, queer, and gender-diverse couples, families, and individuals. Love and family exist in many forms, and all are welcome here.
If there are names, pronouns, family dynamics, cultural traditions, or other details you would like honored, you’re always encouraged to share them. My goal is to create an affirming space where you can show up fully as yourselves and have your story documented with care.
-
Yes. Oathbound specializes in analog photography, with images captured on 35mm film and instant film rather than digitally.
Your 35mm film is professionally developed and scanned, and the finished photographs are delivered through a private online gallery. Instant film may be provided as physical prints, scanned for your gallery, or both, depending on the service.
Digital photography or videography may also be added through one of Oathbound’s trusted creative partners.
-
Always! Inspiration shared through a mood board, Pinterest board, or reference images is welcome and encouraged. It helps me understand what you’re drawn to, but please keep in mind that exact images cannot be recreated or guaranteed, especially when working with changing light, real people, and unscripted moments.
-
Yes, when you need it! You don’t need to arrive knowing what to do in front of the camera.
I provide light guidance, prompts, or small adjustments to help you feel comfortable while still leaving room for natural movement and connection. My approach is not centered around stiff poses or perfectly recreating reference photographs.
-
You’re welcome to share a short list of meaningful people, relationships, traditions, or details that I may not otherwise know about.
However, I do not work from extensive lists of specific photographs to recreate. My documentary approach depends on staying attentive to what is naturally unfolding rather than checking off a long list throughout the day.
For weddings, I will ask for a concise family portrait list in advance so those groupings can be organized efficiently.
Pricing, Travel and Booking
-
Each service begins with a set amount of photography coverage and film. Current starting prices and inclusions are listed on the Film Photography Services page.
Final pricing may vary based on coverage time, location, travel, film quantity, guest count, second-photographer requirements, and any additional services selected. Applicable taxes and travel fees may be added.
-
Applicable gross receipts tax is added when required.
Travel within New Mexico is included with some services, while longer-distance or overnight travel may require additional mileage, airfare, lodging, rental-car, or transportation costs. Any travel expenses will be discussed before booking and clearly included in your proposal.
-
Begin by submitting an inquiry with your preferred date, location, type of session or celebration, and the coverage you’re considering.
If I’m available and the service appears to be a good fit, I’ll send the next steps. Your date is officially reserved once the agreement is signed and the required retainer is paid.
Dates cannot be held without both.
-
Yes. Payment plans are available for weddings, elopements, and select services.
Your payment schedule will be outlined in your agreement, and you’re welcome to ask about creating a schedule that works with your planning timeline.
-
Weddings and elopements can be booked as soon as your date and general location are confirmed. Popular spring and fall dates may book well in advance.
Portrait sessions and smaller events can often be scheduled with less notice, depending on availability. Last-minute inquiries are always welcome, but availability cannot be guaranteed.
-
Once your agreement is signed and your retainer is paid, you’ll receive confirmation that your date is officially reserved.
From there, we’ll stay connected about your location, timeline, lighting, priorities, and any meaningful people or details I should know about. Wedding and elopement clients will receive additional planning guidance as the date approaches.

Sessions, Families and Events
-
Yes. Oathbound photographs couples, engagements, maternity, newborns, families, chosen families, and individuals on 35mm and instant film.
These sessions share the same natural, nostalgic, and connection-centered approach used for weddings and elopements.
-
Item descriYes. Proposal coverage and mini engagement sessions are available.
Because timing and location are especially important for proposals photographed on film, we’ll create a clear plan beforehand while leaving the actual moment room to unfold naturally.ption
-
Yes. Oathbound photographs birthdays, showers, creative gatherings, intimate parties, and other meaningful events.
Coverage focuses on the atmosphere, details, relationships, and in-between moments of the gathering rather than comprehensive documentation of every guest.
-
Yes. Creative sessions are available for artists, makers, musicians, small-business owners, and other people who want their work or process documented on film.
These sessions can include portraits, behind-the-scenes photographs, workspace details, products, or collaborative concepts.
-
An instant film portrait station gives guests an opportunity to have their portraits taken on Instax Wide or Instax Mini film during a wedding, party, or event.
Depending on the selected setup, prints may be given directly to guests, added to a guest book, or scanned and included in an online gallery.

Weddings + Elopements
-
Yes, however Oathbound is especially well suited for intimate weddings, elopements, courthouse ceremonies, backyard celebrations, DIY weddings, and wedding days centered around genuine connection rather than constant photography direction.
Weddings with more than 80 guests require a second photographer. Celebrations with more than 50 guests must also have a designated coordinator or day-of point person so I can remain focused on documenting the day.
If you’re planning a very large wedding, need extensive late-night coverage, or want a high volume of traditional and heavily staged photographs, adding a digital photography team may be the best fit.
-
Yes. I photograph elopements throughout Albuquerque, Santa Fe, greater New Mexico, and destinations across the United States.
Elopement photography is available for celebrations with up to 20 guests. The smaller scale and more flexible pace of an elopement often pair beautifully with the thoughtful nature of film photography.
-
Absolutely. Courthouse ceremonies, backyard weddings, private vows, commitment ceremonies, anniversary celebrations, and celebrations that do not follow a traditional wedding structure are all welcome.
Your day does not need to look or unfold a particular way to be worthy of being documented.
-
Yes. I’m happy to photograph a thoughtful selection of family and wedding-party portraits.
To keep this portion of the day organized and leave room for documentary coverage, I recommend limiting the list to the groupings that matter most. We’ll review your requested combinations before the wedding so everyone knows where to be.
-
Reception coverage depends on your timeline, available light, and the number of hours booked.
Film photography is best suited for capturing the atmosphere, connection, movement, and meaningful moments of a reception rather than providing hundreds of photographs of every guest or every moment on the dance floor.
If comprehensive flash-heavy or late-night reception coverage is a priority, I recommend pairing Oathbound’s film coverage with a digital photographer.
-
You’re welcome to book Oathbound for wedding or elopement photography as soon as your date and general location are confirmed. I typically accept bookings up to two years in advance, while last-minute celebrations may be accommodated depending on availability.
Popular spring and fall wedding dates tend to fill first, so reaching out early is encouraged—especially if your date is fixed or you’re planning a destination celebration. January + May tend to be our busiest months!
-
Yes, I strongly recommend (dare I say even request) asking guests to keep phones, tablets, and personal cameras put away throughout the ceremony.
Unlike digital photography, film photographs are created physically when the film is developed. Although the finished negatives are scanned for your online gallery, extensive digital editing and object removal are not part of my process. This means I generally cannot remove phones, screens, raised arms, or guests standing in the aisle from your photographs afterward.
An unplugged ceremony helps protect the view of your entrance, vows, first kiss, and guests’ reactions while allowing everyone to remain present with you. If having clean, unobstructed ceremony photographs matters to you, clearly communicating this request to guests beforehand is strongly encouraged.
-
Yes. I’m happy to collaborate with digital photographers and videographers as long as everyone knows the coverage plan and respects one another’s space.
Film can work beautifully as the primary approach for an intimate celebration or as a complementary layer alongside a larger digital photography team.
-
Yes. Couples and engagement sessions are available as standalone services and may also be included with select wedding photography offerings.
These sessions are relaxed, lightly guided, and centered around connection rather than formal posing. They can take place at home, outdoors, or somewhere meaningful to you.
-
Additional hours may be added depending on availability, the event timeline, and lighting conditions.
If you think you may want longer coverage, additional film, a second photographer, or instant photography, mention it early so everything can be planned appropriately.
The Film Photography Experience
-
Film photographs have a timeless quality that many people associate with family albums and images passed down through generations. The texture, color, grain, and natural imperfections of film create photographs that feel tactile, nostalgic, and enduring.
Because every roll contains a limited number of frames, working with film also encourages a thoughtful and intentional approach to documenting your day.captured in color, black and white, or a combination of both. Visit the Film Photography Services page to explore current offerings and pricing.
-
Film photography is especially well suited for people who value feeling, connection, and honest documentation over perfection.
My approach is natural and documentary-focused, with light guidance when helpful. Most moments are photographed as they unfold rather than being staged or repeatedly recreated.
If you want flash-heavy coverage throughout the entire event, highly directed posing, an extensive shot list, or thousands of photographs, a digital photographer may be a better fit. I can also work alongside a digital photographer if you would like both approaches represented.
-
Documentary photography means paying attention to what is genuinely happening rather than constantly interrupting or directing it.
I focus on expressions, movement, atmosphere, interactions, meaningful details, and the in-between moments that help tell the full story. I may offer light direction for portraits or adjust something when needed, but the goal is always to preserve the experience rather than turn it into a production.
-
Yes, when you need it! You don’t need to arrive knowing what to do in front of the camera.
Both color and black-and-white film may be used depending on your chosen coverage, the setting, available light, and the feeling of the day.
If you have a strong preference, you’re welcome to share it before your session or celebration.
-
Film performs best in natural and ambient light, but I may use flash when the setting or moment calls for it.
Lighting conditions are an important part of planning film coverage, especially for evening ceremonies and receptions. If part of your celebration will take place after dark, we can discuss what will photograph well on film and whether an additional digital photographer would be helpful.
-
Film is a physical and imperfect medium. Occasionally, a frame or roll may be affected by light leaks, equipment issues, development errors, airport scanners, or other circumstances outside anyone’s control.
These possibilities are part of working with analog photography and are one reason exact photographs or image counts cannot be guaranteed. I use professional equipment, careful handling practices, and trusted film labs to reduce these risks as much as possible.
-
I photograph primarily with professional and specialty 35mm film stocks in a mixture of color and black and white. Film stock is selected based on the available light, location, season, and the feeling of your session or celebration.
Depending on availability and the needs of the day, I may use film from Kodak, Fujifilm, Ilford, Lomography, or other trusted film makers. Because film availability can change, specific film stocks cannot always be guaranteed.
Instant photographs are captured using Instax Wide or Instax Mini film, depending on the service selected.
Your Photographs and Gallery
-
Because film is a physical medium, final image counts vary based on the length of coverage, lighting conditions, film quantity, and pace of the experience.
Every gallery is intentionally curated to include the strongest photographs and reflect the overall feeling of your session or celebration.
-
No. Your finished gallery includes the strongest successfully developed images that meet Oathbound’s artistic and technical standards.
Duplicate frames, test photographs, missed focus, accidental exposures, or images affected by blinking, movement, film advancement, or development issues are not included.
-
Your film is professionally developed and scanned by a trusted lab. Final images may receive light adjustments to maintain consistency while preserving the natural color, grain, texture, and character of the film stock.
Film photographs are not heavily retouched or altered to create an artificial or highly polished appearance.
-
Extensive retouching, body modification, background replacement, and major object removal are not included.
Small adjustments may sometimes be possible, but requests are considered individually and may involve an additional editing fee.
-
Most 35mm film galleries are delivered within 4–8 weeks.
Film must be shipped or delivered to a professional lab, developed, scanned, reviewed, and curated before your gallery is ready. Turnaround may vary slightly depending on the season, lab volume, holidays, and the amount of film photographed.
-
Your developed and scanned film photographs will be delivered through a private online gallery where you can view, download, share, and order prints.
You will receive personal printing rights, but Oathbound retains the copyright to the photographs.
-
Original film negatives are not included with standard photography services.
Negatives are retained for a limited period after gallery delivery and may be available for purchase or transfer by request. Any shipping or handling costs would be the client’s responsibility.
-
Depending on the service, instant photographs may be given to you on the day, mailed afterward, scanned into your online gallery, or used as part of an instant portrait station or guest book.
The specific delivery plan will be confirmed before your session or event.
-
Yes. Professional prints and other physical products may be ordered through your online gallery.
You will also receive personal printing rights if you prefer to print photographs elsewhere, although professional lab printing is recommended for the best color and quality.
-
Yes! You’re welcome to share your photographs for personal use. Credit and tagging are always appreciated when posting online.
Commercial use, publication, resale, brand advertising, or use by other vendors may require separate permission or licensing.
